You can schedule a consultation by emailing us or by phone at 412.621.3223. One of our Patient Care Coordinators will be happy to set up an appointment for you at one of our conveniently located offices in the Southside, Sewickley, Wexford, or Greensburg areas. Once your visit is set up, you will receive an email confirming the date and time, along with directions, more information about the practice, and a patient medical history form that you can fill out and bring with you.
Your initial consultation is very important to us and we strive to ensure that you get the information and quality service you deserve. Please note that there is a $190 consultation fee with Dr. Leong (that can be applied to future treatments).
During your approximately one hour-long consultation, you will be able to discuss your concerns, ask questions, and learn about the treatment plan specifically designed for you. We take pride in being very detailed and thorough about what to expect before and after treatment. It is important for our patients to feel confident and ready to move forward before beginning any procedure. We never want our patients to feel pressured, especially since our focus is on elective cosmetic facial surgery. We occasionally hear from our patients that they have encountered very sales-oriented tactics at other practices and that is not at all our philosophy at Sistine Plastic Surgery.
During the consultation, you will also be able to review before-and-after photos of prior patients, which will help you get a sense of some of the outstanding results Dr. Leong has previously achieved. One of the major goals of the consultation is for you and Dr. Leong to establish clear and mutually understood objectives along with realistic expectations so that you can make educated choices. Communication is a key factor when it comes to the doctor/patient relationship. You can rest assured that you are receiving top quality care from a doctor who genuinely cares about his patients and will give you the time and attention you deserve.
We often encourage patients to come back for a second consultation if they have more questions and are still considering whether they should move forward. If you decide to move forward during this consultation, pre-op paperwork can be filled out and photos taken. All pre-and post-op surgical instructions will be discussed in detail. We will ensure that you are properly informed of what to expect before and after surgery. You may be asked to get blood work, an ECG, or clearance from your Primary Care Provider prior to surgery. Depending on the procedure and day of the week, you may have surgery at either: West Penn Hospital, Sewickley Valley Hospital, St Clair Hospital, or at our state-of-the-art center located in Pittsburgh.
If you have any questions regarding your surgery or what to expect, you are always encouraged to call the office at 412.621.3223. On the day of surgery, you will get checked in and get prepped for surgery. The anesthesiologist will meet with you to discuss the anesthetic process and ensure that you have had no prior complications with anesthesia. After surgery, you will be transported to the recovery area. Once you are fully awake you will return to your hospital room where you can talk to Dr. Leong about the results of your procedure. Dr. Leong may recommend that you stay in the hospital overnight. If this happens, he will return the next morning to check on your recovery. If you are recovering as expected, you will be discharged. All significant surgeries are performed at one of the three listed major community hospitals. Having surgical procedures at major hospitals is the safest location to have surgery. In the highly unusual situation of having medical difficulties, these hospitals are fully equipped with the resources to respond – something not available in any surgical center or smaller setting.
You will be asked to make post-op visits after surgery so that Dr. Leong can monitor your progress or in some cases remove drains/sutures. Multiple post-op visits may be required due to the extended healing process that occurs after some surgeries. For example, it can take up to one year after Rhinoplasty surgery for the subtle aspect of swelling to go down. During these visits, photos may be taken so that you can review your before-and-after results. For many patients, it is exciting to compare before-and-after photos and see their incredible transformation.
